Obituary of Mark E. Kite
Mark E. Kite, 70, of Uniondale passed away at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 19, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at home. He was born August 18, 1948 in Huntington, Indiana, a son of the late Paul E. and Marjorie (Scott) Kite. Mark served 12 years in the Marine Corp and served two tours in Vietnam. He also left a legacy of Marines with his son and two of his grandsons becoming Marines. After his service, he found his passion in pest control and continued in this field for 35 years. He owned and operated Kite Pest Control for 30 years. In the late 80’s he had an “Ask the bug man program” on WOWO. He also pursued his doctorate degree in entomology. On January 6, 1973, he was united in marriage to Peggy. They moved every few years and lived in South Carolina and Wyoming but made Indiana their home. He is survived by his wife, Peggy and two children, Joseph (Kristen) Kite of Monroeville and Nicole (Chris) Melching of Los Altos, California; six grandchildren; Tyler McClish, Danielle (Austin) Springer, Zachary Melching, Gavyn Kite, Brenden Kite, and Madison Kite. He also has one great grandson, Wesley Springer; brother, Michael (Jacqueline) Kite of Spotsylvania, Virginia and sister, Marianne (Jim) Geis of Aladdin, Wyoming. Memorial service will be 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak, 120 West Mill St., Ossian with a gathering of friends and family starting at 3:00 p.m. There will be a private inurnment with immediate family at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ossian at a later date. Memorials are to Wounded Warrior Project.
