Robert E. "Bob" Springer

Robert E. “Bob” Springer, 86, of Ossian passed away Friday, June 12, 2015. He was born on December 27, 1928 in Allen County to the late Emil V. and Margaret (Hinck) Springer. He served in the U.S. Army during the 1950’s. He retired from farming and was a partner at Yoder Grain. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Thiele Road. Surviving family include his daughter, Monica (Richard) Donaghy; grandchildren, Rob (Toni) Donaghy, Kari (Lee) Bullerman, and Shaun (Ashley) Donaghy; step grandson, Rick (Christy) Donaghy; seven great grandchildren; and brother, Edward Springer. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his wife, Leota “Lee” Springer; son, Brian Scott Springer; a stillborn infant; and a sister, Norma Byerley. A funeral service will be 10:30 am on Wednesday June 17, 2015 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 16933 Thiele Road, Fort Wayne, Ind. 46819 with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 2-7 pm on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill St., Ossian. Burial will be in the St. Mark Lutheran Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors or St. Mark Lutheran Church Flower Fund or a charity of their choice.
