Robert "Bob" Don Young

Robert “Bob” Don Young, 73, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, February 7, 2022. He was born in Fort Wayne on April 21, 1948. Bob was raised in Ossian, Indiana. He graduated from Ossian High School. He continued his education at IPFW and he met the love of his life, Ellen, during this time. Bob and Ellen shared 47 years of marriage. He earned his Bachelors of Arts in Secondary Education from IPFW and his Masters of Science in Education from St. Francis University. Bob worked for Polk-Lincoln-Johnson School Corporation in Walkerton, Indiana for 7 years. He then moved to Fort Wayne and worked for East Allen County Schools for 24 years. Bob finished his teaching career at Brown Mackie College where he was an English Professor for 12 years. He enjoyed coaching, umpiring, fishing, boating, watching sporting events of his children and grandchildren, telling jokes, and correcting the grammar of others. Surviving are his wife, Ellen Marie Young; children, Andria Folsom, Lisa (Andy) Sipe, Sara (Chad) Noll; grandchildren, Madi, Brice, Sophia, Eli, Ryder, and Skyler Bobbi due March 3, 2022; great-granddaughter, Sienna; brother-in-law, Larry Eichler, Jim (Kathleen) Werling; sister-in-law, Lennis Scheiman; and five nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Delbert and L. Cathryne Young; and his sister, Joan Eichler. Viewing is from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 17, 2022 with funeral immediately following at Elzey-Pattterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill Street, Ossian, IN 46777.
