Most cherished husband of Norma (Derrick), loving father to Mark and his wife Lynn of Beaver Mines, Alberta, dear favourite nieces Karen Larock and Mary Milito, pal of Gracie.
Son of Doctor Victor Pinard and Germaine (Jacqueline) Noireaut. Alain was born and raised in Paris, France. With the fall of Paris in 1940, Alain and his parents travelled with geat difficulty to the coast of France (St. Jean de Luz), where they were rescued by the British Navy, taken to London and then provided passage to Canada.
Then began Al's life in Ottawa.
Al had a wonderful life full of adventure, always sports (early Minto years, Britannia Yacht Club sailing, proudly a Camp Fortune Ski Instructor for 50 years), music, travel, great family and treasured friends, especially dear long-time friends Evelyn Greenberg and family and Murray MacLean.
Al is grateful to Drs. Jim Dickson, Beth Pringle, Brendan McCormick and Paul LeBrun for their continued care and to Dr. Melissa Rousseau and her compassionate team at the Ottawa General Hospital the past weeks. Ever grateful to his caregiver Anna Orellanas. Funeral private. Memorial arrangements at a later date.
