Please accept my deepest condolences on Barry's passing. I worked with him for many years. He was a person of great integrity and a mentor to many. We will all miss him.

My sincere condolences to the Muir Family.  I remember Barry Muir very fondly as my Director General, when I came to work as a biologist in Ottawa in 1982.  Under his leadership, we put together a plan for Atlantic salmon that is basically still in place 30 years later - it wouldn't have been possible without his skills in negotiating the politics and bureacracy - and a similar leagcy exists for so many other species.  He was one of those DFO people who really made a difference.

To the Muir family,

My deepest condolences to the Muir family on the passing of a wonderful kind boss that I had the priviledge of working with in DFO.  I will fondly remember him as he made me 2 stain glass lamps for my kitchen which I still have.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Donna: We were shocked to get John's news of Barry's passing. We always looked forward so much for our annual meal together and the great conversations with you both.We deeply appreciated all the help and support you and Barry provided during Laura's illness. Barry will be dearly missed. God be with you.

Barry was my walking buddy at the Heart Health Fitness classes.  We've lost a friend of wry wit.  He spoke often of his family and his wood carving.  We will sorely miss his good humour.  - Will Dunlop

Dear Donna,
When bike riding today, a fellow cyclist mentioned seeing Barry's name in the citizen.  I was shocked to hear of his passing.  He will be much missed at OWC.
