Blanche Christine Reinberger, long time employee of Communications Security Establishment (DND) and born in Piney, Manitoba on the 24 July 1925, passed away on the 16 October 2018 at the Perley Rideau Veterans Health Centre in Ottawa, Ontario in her 94th year. She was the daughter of the late Percy Stringer born in Greenwich, England and Thora Jonsdottir born in Digurholti I Einholtssokn, Iceland. She was predeceased by her husband Milton “Mickey”, her brother Andrew Stringer (Margaret), sisters Verna Morin (Lou), Vera Gellert (Norman) and Fern Lane (Jack). She was the loving mother of Marlene McSheffrey (Bryan), Marilyn Brundige (Barry) and Monte Reinberger (Kathie). She was the precious grandmother of Megan Diaz (Yunior), Barret Brundige (Natalie), Gordon McSheffrey and Karlie Reinberger. She was also the great grandmother to Talon and Paige Brundige and Karmen and Kasey Diaz.
Visitation on Sunday, October 28 at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road, Ottawa, ON, K1V 1A6 from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm followed by the memorial Service in the chapel at 1:00 pm. Blanche had a great fondness for animals, especially dogs, and truly enjoyed the visits of Coco, Nina and companion dogs at the Perley Rideau Veterans Health Centre where she spent the last eight years of her life.
