Catherine Elizabeth “Bette” O'Connor (nee Walsh) passed away peacefully at home, with her daughter Helen at her side. Mom had been surrounded by all of her children, many relatives and devoted caregivers in her last days. Mom was predeceased by her dear husband, John, of 56 years. She was the cherished mother to Mary (Ken Glofcheskie), Bill (Deborah Everley) and Helen; loving grandmother of William, Liam and Lina and great grandmother of Sarah and Rachel; and much loved aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings: Fr. James Walsh, Fergus (Eileen), Mary (George) and John (Isabel). Bette will be remembered for her laughter, bridge and parties, but most especially, for her unconditional love for everyone. The family extends our deepest gratitude to Dr. Lisa Cross and members of her Palliative Care Team, and to mom's devoted Personal Support Workers for their compassionate care. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Mary's Parish, 100 Young Street (at Bayswater) on Saturday, December 1 at 2 pm. Donations may be made to Scarboro Missions, 2685 Kingston Road, Scarborough, ON, M1M 1M4. Sharing memories and condolences may be made at: mcevoy-shields.com

We have great memories of visiting with Helen and Bill on the third floor of their house on St. Clair. Bette and John make us feel so welcome. They really seemed to be the "cool" parents. Bette had a great smile, a generous nature and was always interested in what people were doing.
We wish peace and healing for her family, and we take comfort knowing she is at rest.
Much Love, Maurice and Barb

Cathy and I were truly blessed to have known “ Bette “. She was a true friend through the years . She made me laugh and feel welcomed in her home.
I had the honour of sharing the occasional “ wee drams “ of scotch with her over the years. I will miss these moments. They will always be with me.
God bless you Bette .
