Beloved husband and best friend of 50 years to Wendi (née Robbins), Clifford was a devoted family man whose pride and joy were his children, Christopher (Melissa) and Crystal (Tim), and his cherished granddaughters Rebecca, Ashley, and Leah.
Clifford is predeceased by his parents, Gerald and Colombe (née Houle), and by his brothers Wayne, Mark, and Richard (Mina). He is lovingly remembered by his sister Janice (Jim), and will be fondly missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and neighbours.
Clifford dedicated more than three decades of his career to the Canada Science and Technology Museum Corporation as a purchasing officer, retiring in 2007. Retirement, however, didn’t slow him down. Always active and engaged, he worked alongside his son Christopher in his business, relishing the opportunity to stay involved and productive.
A man of many passions, Clifford found joy in the simple things: tending his garden, preparing delicious family meals, and giving back to his community. He was a dedicated volunteer at running events supporting Wendi and took great pride in assembling thoughtful craft beer baskets that raised funds for local dog rescues. His sense of humour, warmth, and kindness brought people together and left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
The Woods family extends their heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at the Ottawa Hospital, West End Villa, and St. Vincent’s Hospital for their care and support during the past six months.
A celebration of Clifford’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute or Bullies in Need Dog Rescue.
