Edmond Abboud

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Edmond Abboud on Monday February 24, 2025. A loving husband of Antoinette Mamarbachi and a dedicated father of Rania, Roula (husband Sami Bismarji, and children Gabi, Fred, Christy and Georgio), Riad (wife Faten Ayyoub, and children Edmond and Marc), Mouna (husband Habib Khoury, and children Claire, Sophia, and Julia), Fadi (wife Maya Chattahi, and daughter Karla). A caring brother of the late Tony, Michel, and Jean Abboud.

He was born in Jaffa- Palestine on October 16, 1939. Moved to Damascus, Syria in 1948 and studied at Pères Blancs in Ryak, Lebanon. His childhood instilled a lifelong passion for music, travel and sports. He was a successful business man who got the opportunity to travel the world and live a long happy life dedicated to his family. Edmond's dignity, good humor and generous spirit touched everyone he met. He never let life's challenges hold him back, even when things got tough in sickness and war back home in Syria.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 1:30 P.M. at St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral, 2975 Riverside Drive, Ottawa, followed by interment at Beechwood Cemetery. For those wishing, in lieu of flowers, donations to St. Elias Cathedral would be appreciated. A mercy meal will follow at St. Elias Cathedral banquet center.
