Dearly remembered by his beloved wife of 66 years, Thérèse Cyr, his children, Alin (Pauline), Céline (Chris) and Danielle (Sean), grandchildren, Carl-André, Mario and Valerie, Chris and Jenny, and great grandchildren Cassius, Caprio, Vivienne, Neko, Persia and Franco and surviving brother Raoul (Ralph).
Predeceased by his parents, Alfred Côté and Rhéa Johnson and brothers Fréderique Côté and Laurant (Larry) Côté.
Born in Smooth Rock Falls, Ontario he and Therese later moved to Ottawa in 1988 to be closer to his family. He worked as an electrician foreman at the Smooth Rock Falls Pulp & Paper Mill for 35 years. Despite living with heart disease, Eugene kept active by participating in his favorite activities including skating on the canal, biking along the Ottawa paths, booking the first tee time of the day, competing in his senior snooker league, watching hours of live NASCAR and Formula-1 races and playing the guitar. Even after 66 years of marriage, Eugène and Thérèse wrote each other words of affirmation every day.
The immediate family will hold a private celebration of his life.
