Peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, August 15, 2013. Beloved wife of Tony. Perfect mother of Terry (Christina), Cindy Sprigings (Brent) and Nancy. Proud and adored Oma of Lauren, Anthony, Hayley and Maggie. Dear sister of Joe, Martin, Cory, Toni, Thea, Anne and Diane. Predeceased by her parents Theodorus and Antonia Van Delst, her brother John and sister Martina. Family and friends may pay their respects at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road, on Monday August 19, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass Tuesday, at 11 a.m. August 20 in St. Bernard’s Church, 1720 St. Bernard Street. Interment St. Bernard’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation would be appreciated. She was a universally admired, loving and selfless woman who fought to her last breath teaching us all a lesson in courage, dignity and grace. Special thanks to Dr. Louise Coulombe and Michelle Roy, her palliative care team, whose exceptional care fulfilled Cisca’s wish to be at home during her final days.
