Frederick Andrew "Pat" Kenney

Beloved husband to Margo (Karam). Loving and supportive father to Lorraine (Dan), David, Michael (Cathy) and Christine (Sarah). The utmost amazing Grandpa to Alicia, Adam, Matthew, Sean, Desmond and Levon, and proud Great-Grandpa to Mason. He will be missed by his sisters Mary-Lou and Gail and the extended Karam family.

Pat enjoyed a 31-year career with the Export Development Corporation (EDC). He was active in community sports, coaching minor hockey and baseball for years. After retirement, he devoted over 25 years as a volunteer with Special Olympics Canada and the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). Pat and Margo travelled the world, creating wonderful, cherished memories.

He was an entertaining, energetic grandfather to all of his grandchildren, and was immensely proud of each one of them. He relished in getting a good laugh from the kids, and was a good-hearted tease. Pat loved his sports, and kept his remarkable sportscaster-like knowledge right to the end. He always enjoyed basking in the sunshine, walking a good beach, and relaxing in and around water.

Family and friends are invited to gather at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Rd, Ottawa on Monday November 3rd from 10:00am until the time of service in the Chapel at 12:00pm. Reception to follow. A private family burial will be held at Beechwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Parkinson Society Canada or CHEO would be appreciated.
