Garry Lynott

Passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on June 11, 2017. Loving son to the late Claudia (nee Vlad) and the late Joseph and was cherished by family and friends. Predeceased by his wife Karen (nee Wigney) with whom he shared a fulfilled life. They built their home where they raised two daughters, created beautiful gardens, and traveled throughout their marriage often with their daughters, Faye (John) and Nadine. Garry worked for the RCMP, which he loved, for 25 years until his retirement in 2009. In retirement, Garry continued gardening and woodworking, a love he inherited from his father. Every year he looked forward to visiting friends in the Bahamas. Garry continued to enjoy these things with his partner Nicole Casault and taught her son, Liam, life skills and fun things like ice fishing. Garry had the gift of conversation and could listen and provide input when needed. He loved to socialize, whether at his favourite watering hole or where he was doing business. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Special thanks to the staff in Neurology and ICU at the Civic Hospital and Elizabeth Bruyere Hospital for all your loving care. Friends may pay respects at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Rd (at Albion) on Friday, June 16 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service on Saturday, June 17 at 11am in the chapel.
