It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gary Scrim at the age of 78.
Gary will be remembered for his warm smile, quick wit, and caring heart. He had a wonderful sense of humour and a kind nature that touched the lives of everyone who knew him. In his younger days, Gary could often be found enjoying the sunshine and working on the perfect tan. He was an avid golfer who loved spending time on the course, whether playing a round with friends or watching the game he loved. Old country music was another of his great pleasures and provided the soundtrack to many happy memories.
Above all, Gary cherished his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Lynn Scrim, his stepdaughter, Candice McGahern, and his treasured granddaughters, Olivia and Katie, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. Gary will also be dearly missed by his sister, Gail Mann, and her husband, Pat, his nieces Cathy (Mario) and Kim, his nephew Robbie, his cousin Sid Sheen, his great-niece Bryanna, and his great-nephew Spencer, as well as many other relatives and friends whose lives were enriched by his friendship, laughter, and kindness.
During his final year at St. Patrick’s Nursing Home, Gary’s smile never faded. The staff often remarked on the warmth he shared with everyone around him. Whether greeting others with a smile or taking his daily walks through the halls, Gary’s positive spirit remained a constant and left a lasting impression on those who cared for him.
Gary’s warmth, generosity, sense of humour, and love of life will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at St. Patrick’s Nursing Home for the compassion, kindness, and care they provided to Gary during his time there. Forever loved, forever remembered.
