Goldie worked with our Dad [Dr. John Ruptash] at Carleton.
We learned Goldie's name at a very young age as our mother Patricia would say "that Goldie is an angel".
On Sunday afternoons our father would take the twins or all four of us to the office while he worked. 
We would spin and race chairs, pretend to type, write bad words on chalkboards like "bum" and raid Goldie's desk. 
At her desk she had a drawer chock full of candy. We often thought she had it just for us... If she knew we were the responsible rascals, she never let on.
With the fondest of memories, we remember Goldie.

Our sincere sympathies go out to you all during this very difficult time.  I met Goldie through my Mother-in-Law Audrey Skuce, who has been a dear friend of Goldie's for years.  My first impression of Goldie was "What a Classy Lady".  She was full of life and was someone you could talk to easily.  She will surely be missed but do take comfort in knowing that you all did the best that you could do for your mother/grandmother...and she knew that.  Her memories will live on forever through her loving family.

It's 42 years since I was first invited to Nicholson Ave. for one of Goldie's fabulous dinners.  Man oh man was I nervous thinking I may have to help prepare part of the meal.  Little did I know it was Dick's clearing and washing up routine I should of been fearful of.

Though life has had a way of separating us from those youthful happy days, your mom's cream sauce, the salmon sandwiches in Jackie's lunch have remained with me.  As well as the many Carleton U boat cruises, card games and girlie things your mom Donna and I did together, the laughter and love.

I will cherish our times together forever...none of which would of happened without your mom.  My heart goes out to all of you.

Jack and Donna - we were saddened to hear about the loss of your mother. We know how deeply you loved her. We will be unable to attend the memorial service, as we will be out of town, but we will be thinking of you.

Goldie was a light in my life.  From the time I started working at Carleton she took me under her wing and never stopped.  I loved her so very much. My heart and prayers go out to your family.

Our condolences to the family. Marion and I will always remember Goldie with fondness from those early years at Carleton. Her free spirit and energy lightened the serious side of Engineering. She will be missed.

Oh that laugh...that black dress with the parrot and later that red dress...dances at the Met Life building with Don and Rich and Audrey and Skid...lunch with the girls (Audrey, Marie and Flo among others) on Bank Street next to the Regent Theatre...spending our pay on Sparks Street (does anyone remember The Shoe Box?)...a lifetime of memories shared and enjoyed. We'll miss you Goldie. Donna and Jack, our thoughts are with you and your families.

Donna and Jack, I was so sorry to hear about your Mom.  She was a great friend to my mother, Rae (Campbell) Miskelly.  My favourite memory is her laugh!  She was so witty and fun to be around.  As a teenager, I babysat both of you one summer while your parents worked.  I will always remember her as a trailblazer and when I read Carleton's tribute to her, it made me proud to have known her.

Goldie was one of my mom's oldest friends. They worked together at Met Life in the 40s and remained fast friends over the years. I will miss Goldie's irrepressible laugh and her great sense of fun and enjoyment of life. The world is a little dimmer with her passing. My condolences to you Donna and Jack, and to your extended family.

I have lost my best friend and my  mentor.  I remember so many good times - sitting around my kitchen table on Friday evenings solving the problems of the world to name a few.  Goldie was very informed on a myriad of topics and sought others opinions.  She had a lovely mind - a lovely personality - her laughter was infectious.  She will be missed greatly. The world is a lesser place without her.
Jack and Donna:  with time you will remember all the joys and you will learn to live with the pain of this great loss.

I am so sorry to read of your Mother's passing.  She was a real character and I always enjoyed her visits to our golf shop.  She loved her Donna.

   My condolences to you, Jack, and also to you, Donna. Remember the good times in this your time of grief, for there were many that I am sure you can recall.

I was so saddened to hear about Goldie passing on but she lives on in memories and spirit. She lived her life like a butterfly, always on the go, flying to heights and then relaxing on her perch where people admired her beauty.  When you see a butterfly fly pass you it will be her, watching over you and telling you she is fine....God bless her and her family in their time of sorrow.
