Cherished mother, sister, aunt and friend to many passed away with her family at her side on November 25, 2017. She was 66. Icy was the beloved mother of Juliana, Corrine and Peter. Icy is missed by her sisters Gloria and Milly; her brothers Horace and Allan; and extended family and friends across Canada, the U.S. and Jamaica. From a humble upbringing in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, she moved to Canada in her early twenties and built a good life for her family as her guiding priority. After working many years with Nortel Networks, she operated her own small business tapping into her self-taught sewing talents. She was known for her strength, hard work and dedication. “Let’s cross that bridge when we get there” was one of her trademark sayings. There were many health struggles in recent years, during which Icy fiercely maintained her faith, fighting spirit and hopefulness. May she rest in peace. The family is deeply grateful for all of the expressions of support, caring and prayers. A celebration of life will be held at her church with family and friends on Friday, December 15 at Gloucester Presbyterian Church, 91 Pike Street, Ottawa at 11:00 a.m.
