James "Jim" Brooks
February 26, 1947 – June 27, 2026
James “Jim” Brooks passed away peacefully in Ottawa on June 27, 2026, leaving behind his beloved wife and best friend, Marilyn (Smith) Brooks. Jim will be deeply missed by Marilyn, surviving siblings, extended family, and many close friends.
Following a long and fulfilling career, Jim retired from Bell Canada. His heart truly belonged to Canada’s East Coast. He was happiest wading into the waters of the Miramichi River in New Brunswick, casting custom, hand-made flies he meticulously designed himself for Atlantic salmon. Sunny afternoons were spent golfing the scenic courses of Prince Edward Island. When winter arrived, Jim could be found back home, passionately cheering on the Ottawa Senators every game night.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Noonan Shore near Borden-Carleton, P.E.I. on Sunday, August 23, 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
