Jean Khazzaka

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear Jean at his home on June 12, 2026, at the age of 80.

Born in Lebanon, Jean was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose kindness, strength, and love for his family will be remembered by all who knew him.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Rabiaa Khazzaka; his children, Christine (Khalid Hanhan), Stephanie, and Moses (Ruba Hanhan); and his cherished granddaughter, Lana.

He is also survived by his siblings, Genevieve, Jeanne d’Arc (both of Lebanon), and Sajie (Claudia).

Predeceased by his brothers Rachid, Elias, and Botros; fondly remembered by their families.

Jean will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, Michel, Robert, Paul, Elias, Elizabeth, Genevieve and Suzy Khazzaka; Pierre Skaf; and the Khazzaka, El Murr, Skaf, Haddad, Mechalani, Zakhour, Bourgi, Bou Yakdan, Saghbini, Saliba, Mahfouz, Hanhan, families, as well as many relatives and friends in Canada and Lebanon.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road, Ottawa, Ontario,

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Sts. Peter and Paul Melkite Catholic Church, 1161 North River Road.

Interment at Beechwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jean to Sts. Peter and Paul Church , would be appreciated.
