Jean-Robert Gagné

GAGNÉ, Jean-Robert (Bob), surrounded by his family, sadly passed away at the age of 93 on June 18, 2026. Son of the late Aldoria and Marie-Blanche (Gélinas). Beloved husband of 69 years of the late Theresa (Terry), nee Scharfe, and loving father to: Diane (Ron); Jo-Anne (Jean-Roch); Richard (Barbara); Carolle; and Linda (Alain). He will be missed by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including his long-time friend George White. He was proud to have served 25 years as a member of the Royal Canadian Armed Forces (Air Force). Many who knew him understood his passion for fishing, hockey, and cottage life. The love he had for his wife, children, grandchildren, and pets was evident. Unfortunately, dementia took his memory and soul away. He is now released from that terrible disease. He can finally rest in peace and be reunited with his wife and others who have passed before him. We love you Dad / Pépère.

We are extremely grateful to the medical team/staff at Ottawa Perley Health for their support, care, and compassion for our beloved dad.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life ceremony that will take place on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 1:30 PM, at Racine, Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home, 180 Montreal Road, Ottawa, ON, K1L 1B4. Condolences will start at 1:00PM (Parking in the back of the building on Cyr Street).

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's/Dementia Society of Canada would be appreciated.
