Family and friends are saddened by the passing of Jean Margaret Wurts, on September 8, in her 95th year, at the Billings Lodge in Ottawa. Loving wife of Gordon Wurts (predeceased) for 59 years, she will be missed but not forgotten by her 2 sons, Stephen and Brian, and their spouses Velda and Tamara; her 5 grandchildren, Corey, Derek, Sara, Amanda and Katie; her 6 great grandchildren, Julie, Jack, Leela, Madeline, Odin and Cyrus; her long time friend Francis (Bobby) Hill, and her dear friend Barbara Jones. Jean was loved by all for her vigour and determination in her approach to life, enrolling in numerous university courses post-retirement, and participating in aerobics and weightlifting at the RA Centre well into her 80's. She was regularly seen in the neighbourhood on her daily 6 km walks along the Rideau River. She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her. Visitation will be held at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road, Ottawa at 1:00 pm followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 pm, on Tuesday, September 12. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
