May 5, 1964 – July 6, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Jeff Emmons on July 6, 2026, at the age of 62, surrounded by the love of his family in the comfort of his home after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Jeff was a devoted husband, proud father, loving grandfather, brother, uncle, colleague, and loyal friend. Above all else, his greatest joy was his family.
Jeff proudly served his country for three years as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces Regular Force Artillery before beginning a distinguished career with the Brantford Police Service. He joined the Service on October 16, 1989, retiring in December 2021 after more than 32 years of dedicated service.
Throughout his policing career, Jeff served in Uniform Patrol, Youth, Vice, Court Services, and BEAT/Community Liaison. He was also a proud member of the Emergency Response Unit (Bomb Team/EDU). Jeff was deeply committed to his fellow officers, serving as both
Vice-President and President of the Brantford Police Association. He generously gave back to the community by organizing the Brantford Police Charity Golf Tournament for over a dozen years, helping raise funds for many worthwhile causes.
Outside of his career, Jeff’s passions included renovating homes, travelling, music, and spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered for his integrity, quiet strength, generosity, sense of humour, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.
Jeff is survived by his beloved wife, Elana; his children, Vanessa, Brittany, Christina, and Cameron; his granddaughter, Ariana; his sister, Tracey; his brothers, Joe and Jim; and many extended family members, and dear friends.
Our family finds comfort in knowing that Jeff’s greatest wish—to spend his final days at home, surrounded by the people he loved—was fulfilled.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jeff’s life on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road, Ottawa. Condolences will be received from 2:00–3:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 3:00 p.m., with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
Jeff will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever in our hearts.
