We are saddened to hear of your loss. I crossed paths many times with John through his great and enduring friendship with my brother and always enjoyed our encounters. Our thoughts are with you in your time of grief.

I met John years ago as a field rep for an insurance company and he was a broker.  Over time our friendship grew and every time I'd come to Ottawa, John would make sure to take the time and meet with me over lunch, dinner, or a round of golf.  He was always full of inspiring words and I learned a lot from our great conversations.  I was completely shocked when I learned of the news and I offer my sincerest condolences to the Green family

I worked with John during the time he was running his brokerage firm on Canotek Road. Between the two of us we joined the Board of Directors of the condominium corp. and, to our mind, put it right. It would not have been possible without John's steady hand and wonderful sense of humour. John will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. I was just advised of his passing this morning and am sorry that I wasn't able to attend the service. My thoughts and prayers are with John's family and hope that the memory of his positive life can carry you through your grief.

French is my first language and Mr Green was very helpfull when I did my RIBO. I remember him talking about his daughter and his wife wich so much enthousiasm. I knew this man was a good person. All my sympathies to family.

to my brother john,, you taught me to play pool and encouraged me, you were there when i was in the air cadets and showed me vodoo jets taking off at dusk in bagottete ville PQ,  john you were always there for me and wanted nothing but the best.  you were an insperation and a hero.  i love you john.  you showed me thiings in life i would never have taken the time see.  you encouraged my sobriety and were to help me when i slipped.  i remember so many things.  i was there when you and beth locked yourselves in the bathroom at a fondu dinner we were having at a girlfirend of mine.  when you came out of that bathroom you and beth had decided to make a like together.  i remember your wedding and how fun that was.  we partied together and laughed and cried.  your smile and your voice will always be in my mind.  i will keep your spirit alive and ask myself what you would do when i am at a cross road in life.

Nearly 45 years have passed since I met that Renfrew Lad hustling pool at the Air Cadet Camp at CFB St Jean. As with everyone John met, my life was forever changed. He was there through so many life altering times, I could write a book. Maybe the one memory that stands out, that is truly representative of what John meant to me and my family, is when Angela was being born. I went outside for some air and there was John in the hospital parking lot changing my flat tire. "Roger the Lodger", "Mean John Green", rest well my friend.

But I have also had the great pleasure of having John as a teacher for many Insurance Courses here in the Valley. So very sorry to hear about John's passing. I went to grade school with him in Renfrew then many years later met up with him in Toronto when he was there with Wawanesa. We went skiing quite a bit and renewed a long ago frienndship. He truly enjoyed life and I am so sorry that he has died so young (62 is young for me).
