It is with the utmost sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Jose Brasil, on February 19, 2026, at the age of 81. Born in Beira, Sao Jorge on April 27th, 1944 to the late Manuel Brasil and the late Josefa Pires.
He migrated to Canada at the young age of 19 years old. He settled in Vanier where he built a family and created a long beautiful life for himself.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He leaves his wife Regina, his children Vicki and Elvis, his granddaughters, Addison and Matilda, as well as his brother and three sisters, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Teresa.
The family would like to thank Dr. Habibi as well as the staff at Maison de l'est, for the wonderful care received.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 25th, from 4 : 00 PM until 8 : 00 PM, at Racine, Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home, 180 Montreal Road, On Thursday, February 26th, 2026 at 11 : 00 AM a memorial mass will be held at Santo Cristo Parish, 1100 Kenaston St, Ottawa, followed by a burial at Notre-Dame cemetery, 455 Montreal Road, Ottawa.
