Peacefully at the age of 99. He was the son of the late Francisco de Oliveira Soares and the late Maria da Estrela and the loving husband of the late Maria da Conceiçao Soares. He will be sadly missed by his children Angelica (Joao), Imaculada (Sergio), José (Francine), Joao (Claire), and Antonio (Celeste). He will also be missed by 11 grandchildren, 11 great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Cherished brother of Lurdes and Isabel. He was predeceased by a son, a daughter, 3 brothers as well as 2 sisters. Family and friends are invited to Racine, Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home (180 Montreal Rd, Ottawa) on Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 13, at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (320 Olmstead Street, Ottawa) at 11: 30 a.m. For those wishing, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
