Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Radia Elazar. Loving father of Jessica and Justin as well as of Judy (Robin), Jeffrey, Jay (Heather) and Jed. Grandfather of Elizabeth and Daniel. Loving brother of the late Georgette Ibrahim (George) of Ottawa and the late George Rached (Violette) of Lebanon. Cherished brother-in-law of Hanna Elazar (Raghida) and Josephine Elazar of Ottawa and Joseph Elazar (Eva) of Lebanon. Dear uncle of Said, Anwar, Elie, Josephine, Najib, Rita, Georgette, Therese, Mary, Fr. Charbel, Boutros, John and Beshara. The family will receive family and friends at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road (at Albion Road), on Friday, October 9, 2015 from 4 pm to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Melkite Catholic Church, 1161 North River Road, on Saturday October 10, 2015 at 9:30 am and the interment will follow at Hope Cemetery, 4660 Bank Street. The family would like to thank the staff of the Ottawa Hospital, General Campus, for their compassionate care. In memory of Joseph, donations to Sts. Peter and Paul Melkite Catholic Church will be appreciated.
