It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Manuel Soares Pereira. He passed away peacefully at home at the age of 94. He was the loving husband of Maria dos Anjos Pereira and the love of her life. He also leaves behind his six children, Lucy, Joana (the late Vince), Anna Maria (Luc), Madaleine (Rob), Dulce and Manny. He also leaves in sorrow his eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and his sister Amelia. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph, and his sister, Maria Conceição Soares Pereira.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Ottawa Hospital's General, Civic campuses and Carefor for their excellent care.
Visitation for Manuel Pereira will take place on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Racine, Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home, 180 Montreal Road, Ottawa, ON K1L 1B4. His funeral service will be held the following day, Thursday, May 14, at 11:00 AM at St Ignatius Martyr Church, 518 Donald St, Ottawa, ON K1K 1L7.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa Mission would be greatly appreciated.
