Marie Lacasse

Mrs. Marie Lacasse (née Gauthier) passed away on January 7th, 2026, at the age of 89. She was the daughter of the late Alfred Raymond and the late Rose-May Raymond (Gauthier). She was the beloved wife of the late Roland Lacasse. She leaves in sorrow her daughter Wanda Thrasher, her grandchildren April (Jameel) and Courtney (Steve) as well as her great grandchildren Basam, Hasan, Du’aa, Jayda and Leia. She also leaves her sister Pierrette Larochelle (late husband Vincent Larochelle) and her nieces and nephew Lynne, Julie (Claude) and Andre. She is predeceased by her son Darryl.

Marie was known for her impeccable organization, her independence, and her weekly hair appointments that she never missed. Sharp‑witted and stylish, she carried herself with a flair for fashion—always the young lady who never truly grew old. She had a fondness for the colour pink, a love for evenings that stretched into the early hours at the casino, and a personality far larger than her petite frame.

Marie cherished every opportunity to be part of family celebrations and special occasions. For the past twenty years, she deeply missed her beloved husband, Rolly, whom she spoke of often. We take comfort in believing that she is now reunited with him, after missing him every day since his passing.

The family would like to thank the Montfort Hospital as well as Visavie Ottawa for their care. A mass will be held on Wednesday January 28th at 1:30 PM, at Racine, Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home to celebrate Marie’s life.

Marie’s legacy will live on in the lives she touched, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
