Passed peacefully at hospital in Ottawa on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 surrounded by loving family. Beloved wife and best friend of Ken for 62 years. Dearly loved mother of Bruce (Jamie) and Kenny (deceased). Cherished grandmother of Kenny and loving aunt of many nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by her parents William and Josephine Duggan of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Beloved sister to Kenneth (Marie - deceased) and her predeceased siblings Billy, Ralph, Geraldine and Agnes (Doug). Marie was a loyal and unselfish wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and an inspiring example of honesty, integrity and generosity. Special thanks to Marie’s caregivers Sam, Freh and Josette for their loving support and care. Friends may pay their respects at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road, on Saturday, July 21 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Funeral service begins at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Capital Memorial Gardens.
