Beloved Daughter of Leslie & Frances Al-Molky (Peakin), sister of Jody Lynn Al-Molky (Steve Betts) and devoted mother to Mackenzie Klein. She leaves a heartbroken fiancée Pascal Ribot of Ottawa and her nephew Zachary Betts of Vancouver. She was predeceased by loving grandparents Anthony and Violet Peakin (Ironside) of Portage La Prairie, MB and Abraham and Madeline Al-Molky (Byrne) of Dartmouth, NS. She is mourned by her beloved aunts Marilee McKnight of Edmonton and Joanne Eilers (Peakin); and by her “Uncle Bob” Eilers of Winnipeg and Uncle Rob Al-Molky of Upper Coomera, Australia.
Mary was born in Baden Soellingen, Germany to Air Force parents and far from support of grandparents and family. She did not meet them for another three years, but from that time on revered her Grammie Peakin for the rest of her life.
Mary was a fantastic hairstylist in Bells Corners for many years and became friends with all her clients. She carried those friendships through her two-year battle with cancer. Mary was a long time member of GoodLife Fitness in Barrhaven and exercised until the end of her life. The week before her passing she was walking for an hour a day.
She died as she lived, surrounded by her family and Pascal, the love of her life, who was her rock through the ordeal of cancer. Her friends Francyne & Andy Ladouceur, Mary Good, Michelle Martin, Heather McDonald and Jane Tetu gave her strength during her long fight.
We will miss her beauty that shone like a beacon when she entered a room. A Celebration of Life will be held on a date after the Pandemic.
Mary has been cremated and her ashes will be scattered at a place she chose, a quiet cove for her indomitable spirit. She called it her happy place.
