It is with sadness that we announce the death of Moira (nee McMahon) LaGroix on January 13, 2018. Wife of the late Carl Alexander LaGroix; mother of Brian James (Alexandra); proud grandmother of Emile; stepmother to Wayne (Linda), Gail (Dan), and Kevin; and step grandmother to Lynda, Sarah and Rachel. Predeceased by her parents, Mary and James McMahon, her brothers James and Tony, and her step grandson Mark. She leaves behind both her English and Canadian families, her dear friends Lorna, Victor and Ted here in Ottawa, as well as friends around the world. Many thanks to Dr. Samant, Dr. N. Chadha, and The Hospice at May Court, who cared for mother through her last days. As per her wishes, mother's ashes will be buried with her late husband, Carl, in Martintown, Ontario, at a later date. I invite friends and family to a visitation at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road, on Saturday, January 20 from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. followed by the memorial service in the chapel at 11:30 a.m. There, we will celebrate the life she lived and afterwards enjoy a glass of wine in her memory.
