

Nancy était une femme d’une grande générosité, attentionnée et profondément attachée aux personnes qui lui étaient chères. Elle savait exprimer son affection avec sincérité et porter aux autres un intérêt véritable. Malgré les épreuves et les difficultés que la vie a placées sur son chemin au fil des années, elle a su préserver cette chaleur humaine, cette bienveillance et cette douceur qui la caractérisaient si bien.
Sa gentillesse, son affection et sa présence chaleureuse ont laissé une empreinte précieuse dans le cœur de tous ceux qui ont eu le bonheur de la connaître et de l’aimer.
Elle est partie rejoindre ses parents, Marie Robillard et Albert Bertrand, ainsi que sa sœur aînée, Shirley Chantigny.
Nancy laisse dans le deuil son beau-frère André Chantigny (Germaine), sa nièce Natalie Maiorino (Luigi) et leurs enfants Danica (José Manuel), Samuel et Vincent, ainsi que son neveu Yves Chantigny (Josée) et ses enfants Raphaël, Véronique et Laurent.
Elle laisse également derrière elle de nombreux ami(e)s de la résidence The Edinburgh, où elle habitait depuis 2019. Leur amitié, leur présence et les nombreux moments partagés ont occupé une place importante dans sa vie.
Son souvenir demeurera vivant dans le cœur de tous ceux qui l’ont connue et aimée.
Conformément à ses volontés, une célébration de vie se tiendra dans l’intimité familiale.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Nancy Bertrand, who passed away peacefully in Ottawa on September 3, 2026, at the age of 76.
Nancy was a kind and generous woman who cared deeply for the people in her life. She had a sincere way of showing her affection and a genuine interest in those who were dear to her. Through the challenges and difficulties she faced over the years, she never lost the warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit that made her so special.
Her kindness, affection, and warm presence touched the lives of all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
She is now reunited with her parents, Marie Robillard and Albert Bertrand, and her beloved older sister, Shirley Chantigny.
Nancy will be lovingly remembered by her brother-in-law, André Chantigny (Germaine); her niece, Natalie Maiorino (Luigi), and their children, Danica (José Manuel), Samuel, and Vincent; as well as her nephew, Yves Chantigny (Josée), and his children, Raphaël, Véronique, and Laurent.
She will also be fondly remembered by her many friends at The Edinburgh, where she had made her home since 2019. Their friendship, companionship, and the many moments they shared held a special place in her life and brought her comfort, joy, and warmth throughout her days.
Nancy’s memory will remain a cherished part of the lives of all those who knew and loved her.
In accordance with her wishes, a private celebration of life will be held with family.
