Peter Racicot

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peter Racicot. He left this world on March 3, 2026, at the age of 65. Born in Ottawa, he was the son of the late Christina Hill and of the late Aurèle Racicot. He was the loving husband of Carmelia Racicot (née Almeida) and the caring father of Richard (Christine), Chris (Jessica), John and Cassie (Pat).

Along with his wife and children, he leaves behind in mourning his beloved grandchildren Grace, Georgia and Madi, his brother Dan (Karen), his sisters Sue (Gilles) and Kathleen as well as his nephews Mac (Cara), Patrick (Chiara), Ben and Dominic (Émilie).

Peter was predeceased by his godfather Gérald as well as his loving grandmother Christina Hill.

The family wishes to thank the incredible team at the Ottawa General Hospital as well as the team at the St-Vincent Hospital for their care and support during these trying times.

A wake will be held at Racine, Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home (180 Montreal Road, Ottawa, Ontario) on Thursday March 12, 2026, from 11am to 1pm and a funeral mass will be held in Racine, Robert & Gauthier’s chapel following the wake.

In memory of Peter, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Penny Lane Farm Sanctuary would be greatly appreciated.
