Dear Uncle Pete,
Yesterday I learned that you had passed on from this world into glory. I was sad because living here in Italy I am unable to attend your celebration of life. What a life you had! I remember you best from family reunions in Gatineau usually at Uncle Rolly's house. I remember that you were always a very interesting person to have an intelligent conversation with and you also told a lot of jokes which had us all doubled over in stiches, laughing so hard... I lost track of where you were and what you were doing after I left Ontario but I am glad I managed to reconnect with you these past few years, via email letters and videos you sent me . I am especially grateful at this time that you were able to provide me with some scanned photos and geneaology information about our ancestors which I am happy to pass on to my 5 kids and currently two grandchildren. Although your time here on Earth is over the information and joy you brought us will be treasured for many years to come. We will meet again my favorite Uncle, in the sweet by and by.

Great Uncle Pete played a part in my life for a few years while growing up. He used to bring us out and teach us about nature through walks in Hull and Gatineau Park. I remember one time he took me sailing in a little boat when I was about 9 or 10 years old. It was a long day but a fun one and I discovered the joys of being on the water, which I still enjoy to this day either in a kayak or sailing. I haven't seen much of him lately as I am on the other side of the country, but he did join us for lunch the last time I was in Ottawa (in 2010). He was always learning new things, in particular things having to do with technology. He was our source for old photos and videos and kept in touch with my mom regularly via email. RIP Uncle Pete.

Uncle Pete and I hung around together after my divorce for a few years. We used to go to dances and singles events and always had a good time. He was also great with my two daughters, teaching them all kinds of things in nature, walks, etc. He will be missed. Rest in peace my dear Uncle with all the members of the Juneau family welcoming you with open arms.
