Pierre Racicot

Il était l’époux de Carolyn, née Hudson, pendant 64 années extraordinaires, et le père de leurs fils Joel (Cathy Deavey) et Patrick (JoAnne Rochon).

Né à Gatineau (Québec), il était le fils aîné de feu Gabriel Racicot et de feue Itha Viau, le frère de feu Jean Marie (Claire Caza), d’André (Rachelle Coulombe), de Georges (feue Madeleine Larabie) et de sa sœur Christiane.

Pierre chérissait ses petits enfants Joshua (Josh), Jade et Mathieu.

En décembre dernier, il est devenu arrière grand père, accueillant avec joie l’arrivée de jumeaux, Jake et Jordan, fils de sa petite fille Jade et de son partenaire Jesse.

Pierre a connu une belle carrière de 34 ans à CBC/Radio Canada.

Il a gravi avec succès l’échelle corporative, occupant notamment le poste de vice président, Ressources humaines, et finalement celui de vice président associé, Opérations régionales de radiodiffusion (Services français).

Il était respecté pour son intégrité, son dévouement et son leadership, et tirait une profonde satisfaction de son travail, de ses voyages et des nombreux collègues et amis rencontrés au fil de sa carrière.

Une célébration de la vie de Pierre aura lieu à l’église Saint-Joseph, située au 2757, boulevard Saint Joseph, Orléans, le mardi 12 mai 2026 à 11 h.

L’inhumation suivra immédiatement au cimetière Saint-Joseph, adjacent à l’église.

Un goûter sera servi au sous sol de l’église.

La famille recevra les condoléances avant la célébration, à partir de 10 h 15.

La famille souhaite exprimer sa plus profonde gratitude aux médecins, infirmières et membres du personnel compatissants de l’Hôpital Montfort pour leurs soins exceptionnels et leur gentillesse.

Au lieu de fleurs, des dons à l’organisme de bienfaisance de votre choix seraient grandement appréciés.

The Racicot family is deeply saddened to announce the death, in Ottawa, of their beloved husband and father, Pierre Racicot, at dawn on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at the age of 85.

Pierre was the devoted husband of Carolyn (n￩e Hudson) for 64 remarkable years and the proud father of their sons Joel (Cathy Deavey) and Patrick (JoAnne Rochon).

Born in Gatineau, Quebec, he was the eldest son of the late Gabriel Racicot and the late Itha Viau.

He was the brother of Andr￩ (Rachelle Coulombe), Georges (late Madeleine Larabie), and Christiane, and was predeceased by his brother Jean Marie (Claire Caza).

Pierre dearly loved his grandchildren Joshua (Josh), Jade, and Mathieu.

In December, he became a great grandfather and joyfully welcomed the arrival of twin boys, Jake and Jordan, sons of his granddaughter Jade and her partner Jesse.

Pierre enjoyed a distinguished 34 year career with CBC/Radio Canada.

He advanced successfully through the corporate ranks, serving as Vice President, Human Resources, and finally as Associate Vice President, Regional Broadcasting Operations (French Services).

He was respected for his integrity, dedication, and leadership, and found great fulfillment in his work, his sometimes demanding travels, and the many people he met along the way.

A celebration of Pierre's life will be held at Saint-Joseph Church, 2757 Saint Joseph Boulevard in Orleans, on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

Interment will follow immediately at Saint-Joseph Cemetery, adjacent to the church.

A reception will be held in the church hall.

The family will receive condolences prior to the service, starting at 10:15 a.m.

The Racicot family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to all who have shared their kind words and support during this difficult time.

The family would also like to extend their deepest gratitude to the compassionate doctors, nurses, and staff at Montfort Hospital for their exceptional care and kindness.
