Rowan Mahoney

Peacefully , in hospital in Wakefield, Quebec only days after leaving his farm in Fieldville, Quebec. Rowan Mahoney died surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Mary Mahoney (nee Maloney) for 49 years. Proud and loving father of Frank (Wanda Gibson), Dan and Jane (Andy Sullivan). Cherished grandpa of his two beautiful granddaughters, Hanna and Abby Sullivan. Rowan was predeceased by his parents Dominic Mahoney and Kathleen Sloan, and his sister and brother in law Edna and Bernie Montague. He also leaves behind his many nieces , nephews, cousins and life- long friends. Rowan was a proud member of his church (Holy Cross) and his community of Fieldville. He believed in the values of integrity, hard work and commitment to community and instilled those values in those he leaves behind. A very special thank you to Dr. David Gold for his compassionate and respectful care to Rowan and his family in his final days, and also to the staff of the Wakefield Hospital. The family will receive friends at the Heritage Hall in Low, Quebec, Route 105 at d` Amour Road, on Sunday, from 2-5 & 7-9 pm and after 9 am on Monday. Funeral mass, Monday at 11 am at Holy Cross Church in Fieldville, Quebec. In memoriam donations to Holy Cross Cemetery Fund or to the Wakefield Hospital, Palliative Care Program would be appreciated.
