He was born in Brandon, Manitoba and has spent most of his life in Ottawa.
Roy was the beloved soulmate of Darlene, loving and cherished father of Jill Cummings, Sarah Shearer and Patrick Shearer; loving and adoring grandfather of Rowan and Delaney Cummings.
Roy will be remembered for his sense of humour, love of music and a good party. He will also be remembered for following his heart. He could always make us laugh.
Always in our hearts, he will be greatly missed.

Family are invited to celebrate his life together on July 28, 2023 at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home & Chapel. 1411 Hunt Club Road, Ottawa, Ontario K1V 1A6 at 2:00 p.m. for a Family Memorial gathering the Memorial Service in the Chapel will be held at 3:00 p.m.
