Sean Graham Wesch

We are heartbroken about the loss of our dear son Sean Graham Wesch. Sean died on Tuesday 20 January 2026 at the Ottawa General Hospital from the complications of an illness. He was 33.

Sean was the dearly loved son of Ashley and Ann Gamey Wesch; dear brother of Owen (and wife Hayley) and Neil. He was the adored Uncle Sean of his nephews Oliver and Graham. Sean loved his extended family: his uncle and aunt Rob and Judy Gamey and his cousins Rachel and John and their families. He adored and was devoted to his Australian shepherd puppy Leo.

Sean was exceptionally bright with a wide variety of interests, which he loved to debate. He had a biology degree and always had a keen interest in science and digital innovation. He was equally interested in politics, books and English grammar. He was an amazing chef and loved social events and time spent with friends and family. He was also our traveller, having done a portion of his university degree in the Netherlands and travelling extensively for several years in Australia and Europe.

Sean spent many weeks in the Ottawa General Hospital ICU. He received exceptional professional care. The family was kept constantly informed and consulted. Sean was always treated with dignity and compassion.

A private family funeral will take place. Friends who would like to pay their respects and remember Sean are invited to attend a memorial reception at the Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club, 1 Hunt Club Road, Sunday 1 February 2026 from 2 until 5 pm. Sean will always have a place in our hearts.
