Passed away in Ottawa on Thursday, September 3, 2026.
Beloved wife of late Joseph George Ghareeb. Loving mother of Andre Ghareeb (Yasmine Haber), Edward Ghareeb, Philip Ghareeb (Rolla Nesrallah). Cherished grandmother of Joseph David Ghareeb and Noah Philip Ghareeb. Survived by her dear sister of Adla (late Simon Awad); and predeceased by Takla (Elias Skaff), Najla (Abdullah Fayad), George Hanna (Sadie Hanna) and Lewis Hanna.
Her kindness, warmth, hospitality, and beautiful spirit touched countless lives. She loved and adored her grandchildren, as she did all the kids in her family. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by all.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, September 10, 2026 after 10:00 A.M. at St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral, 2965 Riverside Drive (at Ridgewood Ave) followed by the Funeral Liturgy at 11:00 A.M.. Interment at Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Shahla’s memory to St. Elias Cathedral would be appreciated.
