Passed away in Ottawa on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at the age of 91.

Loving father of Paul (Suzanne), Allan and Anita (Paul).
Cherished grandfather of Bradley, Lianna (Justin), Erica, Jaden and Matteo.
Caring brother of Emile (Therese Beauchamp), late Raymond (Marie Nesrallah), Afaf (late Antoine Bellema), Amal (Salem Saikaley), Marie (Ibrahim Abou Saad), Shaheen (Marie Saikaley) and Rouaida (Karam El Marji).
Dear brother-in-law of the late Maurice Helal (late Violet Hamway), Jeannette ( late Halim Saikaley), Jacqueline (late Said Kajjouni), George (Hind Ayoub), Sonia (late Joe Beauchamp) and Bertha (late Joe Nemer).
A remarkable man whose life was defined by love, sacrifice, hard work and an unwavering devotion to his family. From his humble beginnings in Lebanon to building a new life in Canada, he lived with courage, dignity, generosity and quiet strength.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, October 16, 2026 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road, Ottawa.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Melkite Catholic Church, 1161 North River Road, Ottawa.
Interment at Hope Cemetary, 4660 Bank Street.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Simon’s memory to Sts. Peter and Paul Church would be appreciated.
