

Sunil will be deeply missed by his wife Pathma, and his sons Randika and Indika.
Sunil was born September 18, 1954 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. He was a Radiographer specializing in nuclear imaging and worked for National Hospital of Sri Lanka for 26 years. During this time he was also a part time tutor at the School of Radiography. He also played an important role with several professional organizations to elevate the radiography profession in Sri Lanka.
He then moved to the United Kingdom and worked for the National Health Service for 11 years continuing his service as a nuclear medicine technologist.
Finally, he moved to Canada to spend his retirement close to his children. It was soon after he was diagnosed with liver cancer which he battled courageously for more than 2 years.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the health care workers for the incredible care Sunil received.
The family will receive friends at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road (at Albion Road) on Thursday, November 17, 2022 after 9 am, followed by a Funeral Service in the Chapel at 10 am. Private cremation will follow. The funeral will be available in via livestream at https://funeraweb.tv/diffusions/64035 and will be available for 200 days following the funeral.
