First of all, I would like to start by offering my most sincere condolences to Marlene, Justin and Glenda.  
Dear Viv,
Your were deeply loved by our family and will truly be missed.  I know and pray that my parents were two of many people there to welcome you into your new life.  My parents were "party animals" just like you.  So do not have such a big bash up there, that we feel the effects down here.  
 
I have many fond memories of you, one of which is when you came alone to visit us in Vancouver on business.  You treated our whole family out to a meal the night before you were heading back.  I am sure you are already recalling the event to follow and starting to chuckle.  Because right after the meal, the waiters offered my mom a warm white roll wrapped in plastic.  My mom said "No thank you and fussed saying she was too full!"  You had to remind her it was not for consumption.  It was only  a warm wet towelette.  The way we broke out into laughter when she explained she though it was a pancake or something for dessert.  

I will miss your Salmon, Fillets of Tilapia I belive, and not forgetting the wonderful Rainbow Trout you prepared when John and I visited your family in Ottawa a few years ago.

I know just like my parents, you will soon join the ranks of Angel, if you have not already.  Guide and protect Marlene, Justin, Glenda and their loved ones at all times.

We were honoured to have Vivian and you Marlene present at the 4th Degree exemplification in Perth a few years ago. We enjoyed your company  at the banquet that followed. Vivian will be remembered in the long past we share in our Holy Family Community.. In remembering Vivian we recall the great group of families and friends that we are part of through the late 70's, 80's and 90's as our kids grew up.We celebrated many times at the drop of a hat! I was reminded of the skits at Holy Family school,in particular the fashion show that the men put on. Viv and big Jim were the star performers.

Vivian will always be remembered for wanting everyone around him to be happy and smiling. His keen wit and hearty infectious laughter has left us with memories that will live with us forever. Vivian was a great friend,Knight of Columbus and confidant when ever he was in my presence.I loved the stories he would tell.He always had a joke.he never wavered when it came time to do service as a Knight especially in the fourth degree as an Honour Guardsman.We were trustees together in the third degree and he did his job impeccably.I only hope I can do half as well as he.I miss him so much already.It is like my right arm has been cut off.He was such a special human being.I can truly say that I loved the man and he is and ever shall be missed greatly by everyone who knew him. Our deepest condolences on the sad loss of Vivian. We had not known him for very long but it was always such a pleasure to be in his company. June and I will always remember Vivian for his humour, laughter and jovial disposition even through some of the medical problems he faced during the last year of his life. We will always remember Vivian for his endless humour and jokes, his positive "can-do" attitude and his tireless effort to help one and all. He came among us to learn about grief and much else too, this Man of Sorrows, He knows, He understands, grief. Grief will yield to peace in time.

We are still in disbelief.  Vivian had his health problems, but he was one of the most alive people that we have ever known.  He never complained and always had a smile on his face.  We are proud and honoured to have known him, if only for a brief while. Vivian came into our lives soon after we moved to Canada. He was definitely an  angel sent by God in our hour of need. Like Viv, I too am a Marine Engineer and inspite of being fully qualified when I arrived in Ottawa in 1993,  I lacked "Canadian" qualifications. Had I not bumped into Viv by chance on that fateful day in 1994, I might still be packing groceries in Loblaws. Vivian took me by the hand and showed me the way to getting my Canadian qualifications. For that kind gesture, I will be eternally grateful. Since that time, we grew to become good friends. Viv never failed to visit us when he came to St John's on work. He loved fish and loved to cook it himself and we gladly let him loose in our kitchen. He has left us with so many pleasant memories. He kept track of our progress through the years. We have not only lost a dear friend but a family member and a brother. A nicer and a kinder man you will never meet. 
Rest easy dear Viv. Know that you will never be forgotten. Your memory will live on through those you've left behind and who are now very much a part of our lives.

I was so saddened to hear of Vivians passing, he was truly a great inspiration to all his Transplant family and will be sadly missed. My sincere sympathy and love to all the family, may God Bless you and give you an extra measure of strength at this difficult time.

Dearest Glenda, Mike, Justin and Mrs. Braganza,

We are so sad for your loss. May his humour and joy for life live on in you. 

I will always remember and am grateful for his hospitality during our years in uni. His sense of humour and of course the most amazing "moogliboogili" breakfast dish  I have never been able to replicate. The girls still have the puzzles your parents brought for the kids for a visit when they were little and I still have a beautiful  shirt from Goa. Whenever I wear it, people comment and it creates an opportunity for me to tell them of a singularly unique, joyful, bright spirit who was as generous with his laugh as he was with his time.

We wish we could be there. May you take comfort in the arms of your family and let happy memories of him carry you through this sad sad time.

Dear Marlene, Justin and Glenda! We are sorry -- so deeply sorry! Although we did not meet too often, the few times we did, left a deep respect and admiration for all that Vivian stood for in terms of conviviality and family values. He epitomized decency and as a 'fellow knight' he embodied true Catholic values and led by example! Although Maryanne and I will be unable to be with you, his family, you must know we share in your grief and sorrow! If I can sum our sentiments, it is: DEATH - BE NOT PROUD!
