Wayne McAlear

Beloved best friend, soulmate and husband of forty-seven years to Gina Maria McAlear (nee McKinnon). Son of the late Bernadette Quesnel and Hubert McAlear, brother of Brian, Mark, Greg, Lynn and Julie. Dearly loved son-in-law of the late Mafalda and Ronald McKinnon, beloved brother-in-law of Ian (Marian), Colin (Nicole), and Rory. Loving uncle to Kelly, Greg, Casey, Angus, Caroline, Veronique, Stuart, Laura, and others. Wayne adored his grand-niece, Charlotte, and his grand-nephews Julien, Ewan and Alex. Wayne was a man who loved to make people laugh, who loved to eat great food and drink even greater wine. He was an electrician, a security specialist for DND and a driver for government VIP’s. In everything he did, he was always hard-working, loyal and determined. He knew how to take pleasure in simple things, such as sharing a meal with friends, a terrific movie, a beautiful sunset. He was a very proud supporter of the University of Notre Dame football team, the Ottawa Redblacks and the Ottawa Senators. He happily travelled all over the world. He lived his whole life with integrity, honesty, love and a wonderful sense of humour. He was one of the good guys. A celebration of Wayne`s life will be held at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road at Hunt Club (at Albion Road), on Saturday, November 18 at 11 a.m. If you wish to make a donation, you can donate to the Cancer Society of Ontario or to any children’s sports organization to help those in need get the equipment necessary to play the sports they enjoy.
