It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Wendy Clavel (nee Lanktree) on July 11, 2026, peacefully at home, at the age of 70. She was the daughter of John Lanktree and Shirley Lanktree (nee Turner).
She is survived by her devoted husband Michel of more than 50 years, her loving daughters, Jocelyn Clavel and Jennifer Bourque (nee Clavel) and her daughter-in-law, Maria Clavel (nee March). She is reunited with her beloved son, Daniel Clavel. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Benjamin Clavel, Emma Clavel, and Tyler Bourque, each of whom brought her immense joy and happiness.
She is lovingly remembered by her mother and her sisters, Gail (Jacques Duquette) and Heather (Edward Kotarba) as well as many extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her father, John Lanktree.
She retired from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada in 2021. Outside of work, she loved getting lost in a good book and expressing her creativity through stained glass and cross-stitch. Her beautiful handmade creations reflected the patience, care, and love she poured into everything she did and will remain treasured keepsakes for those who loved her. Above all, Wendy’s greatest joy was her family.
Wendy will be remembered for her generous heart, her gentle nature, her creativity and the countless ways she made life brighter for those around her. Though she will be deeply missed, the love she shared and the memories she created will remain with her family and friends forever.
A Celebration of Wendy’s Life will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026 at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home & Chapel, 1411 Hunt Club Rd, ON, K1V 1A6. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 am, followed by a service in the chapel and reception.
Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate a life so beautifully lived.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honour Wendy’s memory are invited to perform an act of kindness in her name or make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society.
