Peacefully at the Queensway Carleton Hospital in Ottawa, on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at the age of 74 years. Predeceased by his parents Dr. John S. Cross and Daisy M.(Archdeacon) Cross of Ottawa, by his brother Dr. John P. Cross of Gloucester, and by his sister-in-law Geraldine E. Cross of Osgoode. William (Bill) was born in Ottawa, and attended St. Joseph`s Elementary School in the Sandy Hill neighbourhood. He had been a resident of the Rideau Regional Centre in

Smiths Falls for many years before moving to Forest Hill in Kanata upon the closure of the Rideau Regional Centre.He lived at Forest Hill since 2006. Bill is survived by his brother, Kevin J. Cross of Malta, N.Y. and four nephews: Daniel Cross of Osgoode, James Cross of Ottawa, Robert Cross of Orleans, and Terence Cross of Victoria B.C., and by a close

family friend Douglas Ryan of Nepean. He is fondly remembered by his special friends and staff of Forest Hill, and the former Rideau Regional Centre, and by the staff of Total Communication Environment (T.C.E.),especially D.J. McDonald, Mark Gray, Robyn Smith, France Jalbert and Brian McCallum,who were especially kind to Bill and supportive of him while he was at Forest Hill.
