Andrew Ray Gonzales, age 56, was called home to our Lord on the evening of Sunday March 22, 2020, at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Oxnard CA on December 29, 1963 to Frank and Margaret Gonzales.
With heavy hearts, he is survived by; his two daughters Jennifer and Christina Gonzales , three grandchildren Nevaeh , Josiah and Jacob Rivera and siblings Cecelia, Arthur and Richard Gonzales.
Andrew grew up in South Oxnard, where he attended grade school at St.Anthonys and continued onto Santa Clara High School. He was known for his charismatic charm , infectious personality, laugh and great sense of humor.
Andrew was a family man. He took great pride in his daughters and grandchildren, and loved them with all he had. Being around his family brought him great joy. Andrew loved his parents dearly.
Andrews biggest passion was sports! He grew up playing baseball, basketball and football, but his greatest love of these was basketball. He continued on playing into his adult life. His knowledge of the game , and the way he grasped the fundamentals of any sport was impressive. He was an amazing coach and took his teams to Regional Champs.
Watching sports on ESPN was his jam, he could call out a flag or a foul before the referee !! He was a die hard LA teams fan, LAKERS DODGERS RAIDERS KINGS! He also loved watching classic movies, listening to oldies with Art Laboe on Sunday afternoons and eating pancakes with peanut butter.
There will be Celebration of Life Service held on March 22, 2021 at the Miracle Center Church in Ventura.
