
A family gathering will be held at the family residence in Skipperville on Friday, May 4, 2012.
Mr. Evans was born in Onancock, Virginia on November 11, 1933. He was a lifelong resident of New Orleans, Louisiana. Mr. Evans moved to Skipperville in 2005. He was a welder at Equitable Ship Yard and was a lifelong New Orleans musician and song writer. After retirement, his passion was building model boats. Mr. Evans loved his family and friends and especially loved playing his guitar.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Hilda Evans Delaune; father, Walter H. Evans; step-father, Eugene Delaune; grandsons, Michael Loustalot, Stephen Billiot and Jason Billiot; brothers, Herman Evans, Paul Evans and Joseph Evans; sisters, Vera Watkins Marchand and Leona Gonzales.
Mr. Evans is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joan Lightell Evans of Violet, La/Skipperville, Al; his children, Raymond Evans, Sr. and Terry Bolleter of Covington, La., Deborah Evans Loustalot and husband, Arthur Joseph Loustalot, Sr. of Violet, La., Lisa Evans Billiot and husband Steve Billiot of Carriere, Ms., Eugene Evans, Sr. and wife Kathleen Leidinger Evans of Skipperville, Al., his heart felt daughter, Ina Claire Johnson and husband Trae Johnson of Skipperville, Al; sisters, Catherine E. Lightell of New Orleans, Elizabeth Lyndille; grandchildren, Raymond Evans, Jr. and wife Melissa, Amy Evans York, Arthur Joseph Loustalot, Jr., Mark Loustalot, Sr. and wife Jamie, Melissa Brown and husband Chase, Jeremy Billiot and wife Virginia , Tarasha Evans Capps and husband Timothy, Eugene Evans, Jr. and wife Ashley, Everett Cody Evans; a heart felt granddaughter, Kirstin Johnson; great-grandchildren, Emily Evans, Madeline Evans, Victoria Evans, Lillian York, Patrick York, Addie Evans, Alyssa Wiggins, Lukas Capps, Mark Loustalot, Jr., Ella Elisa Loustalot, Kayla Loustalot, Jordan King, Travis Brown, Hayley Capps, Lindsey Capps and Ryan Capps; also surviving, a host of nieces and nephews.
