

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 12, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at Ozark Baptist Church with Dr. Steve King, Rev. Kenneth Hale and Rev. Harry Circle officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens under the direction of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday morning at Ozark Baptist Church from 9 a.m. until service time. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Ozark Baptist Church Family Life Center, 282 S. Union Avenue, Ozark, AL 36360.
Thomas Darren Pippin was born April 16, 1929 in Dale County, Alabama, son of James Thomas and Lydia Paul Pippin. Mr. Pippin was a member of Ozark Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Chairman of Building & Grounds Committee, RA Director, as well as serving on the Christian Fellowship Committee, Nominating Committee and various other committees. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Chief Master Sergeant with 27 years of service. Mr. Pippin also retired from Civil Service at Ft. Rucker after 18 years of service. He loved traveling, hunting, and fishing. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Shirley Ann Howell Pippin, in 2005, and a son, Thomas Marcus Pippin, in 2004.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Walding Pippin, of Ozark, AL; one daughter, Sandy Kennard, of Dothan, AL; one son, Jim and Margaret Pippin, of Pike Road, AL; four grandchildren: Zack and Alex Pippin, Darren and Trevor Kennard; two step-daughters: Cindy and Tim Underwood of Tucker, GA, and Susan Wyatt of Millbrook, AL; two step-sons: Tom and Jennifer Walding, Bill and Melissa Walding, all of Ariton, AL; and ten step-grandchildren.
