She was born on Feb 19, 1921 in North Braddock, PA to George and Laura Schafer. She is preceded in death by her second husband, Norbert A. Henfling, and her first husband, James H McVey, and all her sisters and brothers.
She attended St. Francis Convent near Joliet, IL and took her vows to become Sr. Georgiana in 1940. After leaving the convent, she moved to Cleveland, OH where she met and married James H McVey. After his death, she met and married Norbert A. Henfling. Once they retired, they moved to Barefoot Bay, FL where they enjoyed their retirement years.
Mrs. Henfling was a proud Registered Nurse for 51 yrs., working with the Red Cross during WWII, then at hospitals in Ohio and Florida in their Labor and Delivery Departments with the newborn babies she loved so much. She was an active volunteer at St. Luke's Catholic Church and in her Barefoot Bay community. She belonged to many groups, including the Little Theatre, Buckeye Club, Merry Makers, St. Luke's Ladies Guild, St. Luke's Eucharistic Ministers, St. Luke's Thrift Shop, Visiting Nurses Association, Nurses Unlimited, and United Nursing Assoc.
She is survived by her children; James McVey, Carolyn Garbo, George McVey, stepchildren; Barbara Keil (Dick), Rick Henfling (Mary lee), Edward Henfling, grandchildren; James, Christopher, Kelly, Jennifer, Rick, Michael, Jeffrey, Matthew, Megan, Joshua, Hannah, and 10 great grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be held on Oct 28, 2019 at 1:30 pm at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Barefoot Bay, followed immediately by prayers and burial at Fountainhead Memorial Park in Palm Bay.
