Caroline Anna (Carole) D'Amato, 91, of Palm Bay, Florida passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Vitas Hospice in Rockledge. She was born on July 28, 1928 to the late James Galassi and Caroline (Pellegrino) Galassi.
Carole grew up in Sleepy Hollow, NY and later moved to Ossining, NY when she married her husband, Robert D. Amato, Sr. Carole worked for Readers Digest in Pleasantville, NY and retired from Dictaphone Corporation in Melbourne, FL.
Carole was a member of the Greater Palm Bay Senior Center where she loved singing and performing with the Senior Center's singing and entertaining groups, the Golden Tones and the Pretenders. She was an active parishioner at St. Joseph's Catholic Church and sang in the choir which she greatly loved. Carole developed many friendships throughout her life that brought her much love and happiness. Carole also found a friend and companion later in life with Wade Grimes.
Carole is survived by her son Robert D'Amato (Terry Dempsey) of Poughkeepsie, NY, Linda D'Amato Meyers (Gerald Hees) of Westport, CT and Kenneth D'Amato (Courtney) of Melbourne, FL.
Her grandchildren, Lauren Meyers (James Dillon), Matthew Meyers (Rachael), Joshua D'Amato (Amanda Chavez), Emma D'Amato and Lucas D'Amato.
Her great grandchildren, Julianne Dillon, Camila D'Amato, Logan Meyers and Kennedy Meyers.
She is predeceased by her husband Robert D'Amato Sr, and her 7 brothers and sisters, Jessie D'Eufemia, Elizabeth Maluccio, Salvatore Galassi, Joseph Galassi, Francis Bell, Gloria Koval and her twin brother James Galassi.
A Catholic Mass will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at St. Joseph's Chapel, 1422 Miller Street, Palm Bay, Florida. The Eulogy will begin at 12:45pm followed by a Catholic Mass at 1:00pm.
