Christopher John Pontello, some called him "Kit", passed away in Palm Bay on September 21, 2025 at the age of 65. He maintained compassion and kindness throughout his sickness and expressed gratitude for life.
Chris was born on February 9, 2025 in Syracuse, New York, and graduated from Florida Institution of Technology with a degree in Environmental Engineering. He married Guixiang, a seamstress he met in China in 2008. His two sons and wife remember him as a kind, patient, gentle father and husband, and all his friends and co-workers considered him as an intelligent, passionate individual that they enjoyed working and hanging out with very much.
As an environmental engineer, he had helped the City of Palm Bay with multiple building construction layouts and waste/stormwater management. He was also a compassionate person that always thought of other individuals less fortunate than him and was always eager to help out in any way with friends, neighbors and family.
Chris never hesitated to take care of his family and friends; he did everything he could with honesty and integrity. He had very strong and ethical morals and principles and was well-liked by everyone. His legacy will carry on forever reminding us that we control our attitudes. We choose to live a life of meaningful acts of love and service. Chris is survived by his beloved wife Guixiang "Grace" Deng, his son Christopher Pontello Jr. and his stepson Feifan Cao.
A visitation gathering will be held at 11:30AM on Monday, October 13, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with a Memorial Mass beginning at 12:00PM.
Visitors to Christopher's online memorial are welcomed and encouraged to share stories and leave messages of condolences.
